When they patched the game they fixed this and it spread the workload across all your CPU cores fairly evenly - something that id Tech 5/6 are actually quite good at. The game was running nearly everything on two main threads which was killing the game's performance on most systems. However D2's game world is a lot more complex and interactive compared to previous idtech5 games. My guess would be could be on Arkane's rewriting of the renderer, as Void is DX11 and idtech5 is OpenGL, and curiously it's not reported as a problem on consoles. (edit: another thing on this is that for DX11 games, apparently nvidia have put more effort into their driver, so it does some of the work of multithreading for DX11 in software which is why nv cards see less gains going to DX12/Vulkan as they had some of the gains beforehand, and AMD is catches up) Цитат -It affects everyone, but apparently AMD is hit harder. Now I don't know a whole lot about game engines but I think it's safe to assume that there are some CPU intensive elements in these scenes that trigger this workload shift. But what's interesting is what the hardware does according to HWMonitor: the GPU throttles (lower temperature and utilization) and the CPU use stays close to 100% constantly, while in other areas it seems to average 50-60%.
